The History of Daffodil Weekend
Inspired by NGC member Jean MacAusland, the inaugural Daffodil Show was held in May 1975 with 250 entries. By the late 1970s, the Club had planted millions of daffodil bulbs across the island—creating Nantucket’s iconic spring bloom display.

August 5th, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 70th Annual House And Garden Tour, “PROMENADE ON THE POINT” will be held on August 5, 2026 from 11-4. The House and Garden Tour is the Nantucket Garden Club’s sole fundraiser, and its impact reaches far beyond a single summer day. Proceeds directly benefit organizations and programs on the island, such as Civic Improvements; Grants for Beautification, Conservation, and Environmental Education; and scholarships for local students. Every ticket sold helps preserve the natural and cultural heritage of Nantucket for generations to come.
This annual event features a curated selection of historic and contemporary homes and gardens across rotating neighborhoods. You will enjoy:
• Self‑guided tours through 5–6 private estates and gardens
• Exquisite floral arrangements throughout the interiors
• Complimentary tea and cookies hosted in one of the gardens

This inspiring event showcases the creativity of Nantucket’s local artists—each artwork is paired with a one-of-a-kind floral interpretation designed by a member of the Nantucket Garden Club. Whether you’re a lover of art, flowers, or both, this Free and open to the public event offers a fresh, imaginative way to experience Nantucket’s vibrant cultural scene.
